80s Music DJs
There was some great pop tunes around in the 80s, and 80s music
today has defiantly made a come back. Most people have a list of
their top ten favourite 80s tunes and the following is a list of
the most requested 80s tracks we are asked to play at 80s music
theme night parties. However this is not a recommended play list
because every party is unique and rigid play lists for DJs do not
work, a party DJ will need to change the music mix depending on
what requests come in on the night and what the dance floor situation
is like. We had to stretch our list of top ten requested 80s tunes
to 20 and are sorry if your 80s favourites are not in this list.
Whats popular changes all the time and so does this list, however
there will only ever be room for just twenty classic 80s tracks
in our top twenty tunes of the 80s.
- Madonna - Holiday etc
- Michael Jackson - Billie Jean etc
- Yazz - Only way is up
- Weather Girls - Its raining men
- Jamian Stewart - We don't Have to
- Rick Astley - Never going give you up
- KC and the sunshine band - Give it up
- Depeche Mode - Just cant get enough
- Gwen Guthrie - Nothing going on but the rent
- Wham - Club Tropicana
- Wham - Wake me up
- B52s - Love Shack
- Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a place on Earth
- Bon Jovie - Living on a prayer
- UB40 - Red Red Wine
- Soft Cell - Tainted Love
- Human league - Don't you want me
- Katrina and the Waves - Walking on Sunshine
- Bill Medley and Jennifer Warn - I've had the time of my life
- Toni Basil - Mickey
TV programs and adverts have a big effect on what people like and
whats in vogue, for example before the BBC made the hit show Ashes
to Ashes very few people had heard of the record Same Old scene
by Roxy Music, now this tune is huge. It made the top twenty list
for a while and is still a popular track for the early party of
an 80s music party. However if a tune is really popular it sometimes
gets overplayed and then becomes a bit stale and ultimately boring,
on the other hand if you haven't heard a tune for such a long time
it seems brand new, fresh and exciting. Ultimately this is why 80s
music parties are so popular. A professional 80s music DJ spinning
proven dance floor filling tracks that everyone knows and loves,
but haven't heard for ages.
Many other floor filling classics like Whitney Houston or the boys
party favourites from Bad Manners and Dexys midnight runners are
not on the list simply because there is only room for twenty tunes
in our favourite twenty tacks of the 1980s. This list is not ranked
one to twenty but we had to place the King and Queen of 80s pop
at the top, just about anything from Madonna and Michael Jackson(rip)
will work at a 80s party today.
If you think 'Dont stop me now' by Queen should in the top twenty
it cant, as it was released in the 1970s. If you like contact us
to recommend any changes we should make and check out our list of
the 80s pop flops and our list of
80s number 1's.
